Description
The Department of Mathematics and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Fordham University invite applications for The Kim B. and Stephen E. Bepler Chair in Data Science. This endowed Chair, made possible through a generous gift from the Beplers, has a 5-year term with the expectation of renewal for sustained scholarly productivity, and comes with a research fund and reduced teaching load. The position will begin in Fall 2023.
Candidates must have a Ph. D. degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline and a record of scholarly activity or professional experience in data science. They should have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence and the highest standards of scholarship and professional activity in their research. The applicant must be able to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in Mathematics and/or undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer and Information Sciences, and have the potential to engage undergraduates and graduates in research.
The salary range for this position is:
- Associate Professor: $100,000- $145,000
- Professor: $140,000 - $175,000
Fordham University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and internal salary equity considerations.
